Protection in case your income changes unexpectedly. If you have a non-work-related disability, injury or an extended illness, disability income coverage can help cover essential expenses for you and your family.&nbsp;&nbsp;How it Works• For a qualifying disability absence lasting up to 26 weeks, Samuel provides Short-Term Disability (STD) coverage at no cost to you. STD benefits begin after a 7-day waiting period for an injury or sickness. Benefits begin day 8.&nbsp;• If your disability continues after your STD benefits end, you may begin receiving Long-Term Disability (LTD) benefits.&nbsp;

Who is eligible?&nbsp;Regular full-time team members enrolled in the Samuel Harmony Benefits Plan.&nbsp;What is it?&nbsp;• Cash benefit to replace part of your normal income if you become unable to work due to an illness, injury or childbirth.• STD coverage is automatic and 100% company paid.• LTD coverage is automatic and 100% company paid.&nbsp;&nbsp;What to do• If you need to take a disability leave of absence, let your supervisor know and follow the leave of absence guide.
