•   If you work at Main Steel in Elk Grove Village or Samuel’s Packaging HQ in Woodridge, you’re in luck! You can save money on your commute using this account, which allows you to use pre-tax money to pay eligible commuting costs. 

How It Works

•   The state of Illinois passed legislation in 2023 (The Transportation Benefits Program Act) mandating that companies in the Chicagoland area give their employees the opportunity to buy public transit passes, using pre-tax dollars deducted from their paycheck. This saves participants money by reducing their taxable income. 

•   If you ride Pace, Metra or the CTA to work at Samuel, contact your HR representative today so they can tell you how it works, and get you set up to start deductions soon!
